Next commission

While the weather continues cool, I got back up to my studio (finally) and worked on the wedding commission. It's working name is Deep Water but that doesn't get to the sense of reflection, stillness, and shelter the image has for me. Suggestions?

I will stitch it down tomorrow and "frame" it in fabric. Here are swatches trying out for the edges:

Linda...how about for a title "Still Waters Run Deep"...love the slight movement in the water..keep going, you've almost got it. Saw you and your pals article in the Quilting Arts magazine I received in the mail Saturday...great article, loved all the comments and how you all make it work...it's always great to work around others that feel the same way you do about FIBER. Ha! I was going to suggest Still Water, with the deep running implied...

Linda, you visited my blog a while back and I never got a chance to comment on your work. It's really beautiful -- it is always nice to see the talent of my "neighbors"!

Can you give a size for the piece? It's a lovely piece of work even without the borders. Do you have any finished photos?

The finished size was 20x16. The border was a request. I agree it would work fine without one, too.

The punch line is when I delivered the piece, the buyers fell in love with it and kept it. Very satisfying for all.
