Heat Wave

With record heat in Boston, and no air conditioning in my studio, work turns to what's portable.  Sketching in the kitchen. Stitching in the living room. Research at the library.

The blending and layering of color remains a mystery and a joy. Hot yellows, reds, purples, orange. Perhaps a cooling journey into greens later today?

Meanwhile, my Alzheimer's students finished their butterfly paintings, a two week project. I'm thinking they really need an art show at the local library:

I love the colors and imagery in the painted piece at top.

Oh, an art show is totally needed!

Hmm, I wonder how we can get you to do an art class with out kids with autism?

Yesterday I biked a long way in the morning, and was content to sit in my air conditioned room and piece together two pillows...today I had an outdoor lunch then made cards using fabric I had printed and painted on....!
