Printing this now
Text. Tone on tone. Time.
Marks. Memory.
The deliberate, then the random. Intent versus chance.
Impermanence, awareness. Loss. Resolve.

Stenciled Tags

"Your job is to keep your hand moving."
To me that means having a list of small, manageable tasks to pick up when time allows. ![]() | |

Stencil Happy
| View towards my studio window |
Monday was a vacation day. This meant someone else was home to walk the dog, and I could stay at my Lowell studio, happily printing away. I used a new stencil to rework a half-dozen silk scarves. One failure, but o the successes.

Now back to sewing. Boro scarves: two commissioned, finished. Delivery tomorrow.

Printing away
I'm taking advantage of these perfect fall days to play with discharge, paints, and printing.
This afternoon, after teaching, I'll work on black velvet.
The first results are on sale at Stebbins Gallery in Harvard Square, on Church Street. It's open regularly now, and full of work by local artists. Check it out: Thursday and Friday 6-8, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons til 6.
